Kolache Factory Ranked In Franchise Times Top 400
Texas-based Bakery-Café Rises to the Top in a Tough Year to do Business
October 06, 2021 // FranchiseMarketingSolutions.com // KATY, Texas – Kolache Factory, a pastry chain based in Katy, Texas, recently ranked in the Franchise Times Top 400. The Franchise Times Top 400 is the most comprehensive ranking of the 400 largest U.S. franchise systems and is backed by more than 20 years of research.
In a year of shutdowns, pandemic-related restrictions and radical change, Top 400 sales of the largest U.S.-based franchisors declined by more than $96 billion or 13.1 percent last year, to $635.9 billion, as some brands thrived, and others took a major hit. In the restaurant industry, overall sales declined 5.1 percent.
However, even during these tough times, Kolache Factory has been recognized for its outstanding performance in areas including unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power.
“We appreciate being recognized by the Franchise Times 400 for our sustainability and resiliency through the most challenging time ever to do business,” said COO Dawn Nielsen. “During this pandemic, our stores have worked harder than ever to offer our customers the perfect pandemic food — a unique handmade pastry with sweet and savory fillings that is an easy grab-n-go. Even with limited to no dine-in options available, our franchisees rose to the occasion.”
Previously the Top 200+, Franchise Times renamed its annual ranking of the 400 largest U.S.- based franchise systems by global systemwide sales to better encompass the biggest brands in franchising. The rigorous approach to research remains the same, said Franchise Times Editor in Chief Laura Michaels. The project is the result of a five-month research and reporting effort that leads to the most credible and objective franchise ranking.
