Always An Angel Homecare Elevates Engagement with New Home-Based Activity Program Rollout
Providing Vitalizing Activities for Mental Stimulation and to Foster Emotional Connections with Others
October 04, 2021 // FranchiseMarketingSolutions.com // PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. – Always An Angel Homecare, a faith-based senior homecare franchise providing non-medical comprehensive home health care solutions, recently developed and introduced a home-based activity program called A MOMENT IN TIME: LET’S LEARN, LAUGH, PLAY and PRAY!™ to engage participants in fun and meaningful activities.
“A MOMENT IN TIME was created during the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic, recognizing the isolation of seniors in their homes and the need to foster emotional connections with others; boost cognitive skills, improve fine and gross motor skills, connect with their Maker, encourage self-expression, help them feel productive and simply to have fun,” said Roberta Velichko, co-owner of Always An Angel Homecare.
“Our goal is to provide our caregivers everything they need to be successful, build and foster strong relationships and make lasting memories with their clients.”
At the beginning of each month, packets are mailed to the clients’ homes including the current activity calendar filled with holiday and popular themes of the week, corresponding arts and crafts, links to learning and recipes, suggested outings, discussion questions and more. The packets also include an introductory page that explains the activity and the benefits. A monthly favorite is the creative themed word games spanning word searches, anagrams (unscramble words), crossword puzzles and quizzes – that always include the answers on the back.
Each of the activities can be tailored to meet a client’s interests, cognitive skills and physical abilities. It’s the caregiver’s responsibility to find their client’s “sweet spot” – not too easy but at the same time, not too difficult.
In addition, Always An Angel provides 24 supplemental activities for the Mind, Body and Soul and an additional 21 activities including car games, sing-alongs, 100 questions, sensory therapy and much more. Engaging through mind games helps grow and develop an individual’s memory, thinking and reaction time. Physical activities such as chair exercise, chair yoga dance and standing exercises not only can help control weight, but it also boosts one’s mood, sparks energy, improves sleep and even prevents disease. Lastly, feed your soul. All it takes is a simple daily devotional or meditation to feel satisfied in our supernatural being.
“This program is another differentiator for us in the home care space,” added Steve Velichko, Co-Founder and CEO of Always An Angel Homecare. “It is our goal to provide our franchisees and their caregivers the tools to have a successful experience with their clients.”
